Tuala is a Bay Area native. She was born and raised in Menlo Park, and now resides in Berkeley with her two children. She attended The University of Santa Cruz where she graduated in1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with honors. In 2003, she completed a Masters Degree program in Counseling Psychology at the Sophia University, in Palo Alto. Tuala has also been trained in somatic therapy, psychodrama and human sexuality. Perhaps even more potent than her professional experience is her broad range of personal relationships, and developed sexuality. Tuala has intricately explored both short and long term relationships with both sexes, both open and monogamous. Tuala was previously married to a woman for seventeen years and currently is in a long term relationship with a man. Tuala has given birth, and also acted as a birth partner, which provides her with a unique perspective regarding childbirth, and how it affects sexuality in a relationship for both members of a partnership. Because of her innate passion for human sexuality and connection, her clients often find it easy to be vulnerable and honest from the onset of treatment. When she isn't working with her clients, Tuala enjoys cooking with friends and family, exploring our beautiful planet and finding hidden adventures in the great outdoors.
